The second week of March always trigger extra strength on women related subjects. The discussions about gender gap, domestic violence, opportunities, equality and more gain more visibility thanks to the well known Women International Day. We thought it would be good to dust off a few portraits from Sonia's own photographic project The Women Series.
Women have been the subject of attention in Sonia's photographic work. To listen, to know, to connect and to respect these women is of great importance. The Women Series is an ongoing portraiture project that explores the private and public dichotomy women face and how their gestures, expressions and attitudes transform from ‘being with themselves’ to ‘being ready for the public eye’. A camera closely points at them while asking questions about their fears, love, joys, sadness and their relationship with their bodies. The series is in its 7th year.
